The Risks of A Winter Wedding

I just filmed my first winter wedding this past weekend, and I must say that everything went very well! The ceremony was in a beautiful church and the reception was in a reception room above a restaurant. Everything went as planned, and the snow even decided to push off to the south to allow us to have safe travel.

With winter weddings you do run the risk of having bad weather, but you can have bad weather in the midwest during any time of year (floods and tornadoes anyone?).

The only thing is the temperature is less than fair, but as my wife and I know, summer weddings pose the same issue with temperature. We had to move our wedding to an inside location for fear of people sweating themselves into a Wicked Witch of the West puddle.

If you have a winter wedding set in your heart, there is no reason not to go for it. Just ignore the naysayers and do what you need to in order to have the perfect wedding.

And as for outside photos, you chose a winter wedding for a reason, so you have to brave the cold for at least a little while to get those beautiful snowy bride pictures!!!

What do you think about winter weddings?
